Hey everyone my name is Michelle Mcbean, I've recently relocated to Louisiana about a year and a half ago. I wanted to learn how to swing out since everyone in my family knows how to dance. I went to Carl T birthday bash last year and saw the SwingKings dancing on stage. After that night, I looked for the group on social media. I found the page then saw that a class was being offered in Carencro. I drove to Carencro from Baton Rouge and have been coming back since then.
My name is Ceejay “ Silky Slim “ Mouton and I am 44 years old from Duson Louisiana. I was introduced first to Swing Out music at a young age from my Mouton family. It wasn’t until maybe the age of 35 was when I actually went to a Swing Out spot called The Willow which is here local in Lafayette Louisiana where I was asked by a lady…. She asked was I going to HOLD THE WALL all night. Which meant basically are you going to dance or what!!! I didn’t have a response for her. I went home watched YouTube videos and I practiced at home until I was comfortable enough to get out on the dance floor. It has been still til this day…. My best sense of PEACE and FREEDOM!!!! I feel like if I learned it ANYBODY can learn it.. Like anything else in life… practice and repetition will get you where you need to be so come out and vibe and enjoy the ART of Swing Out dance with The SWING KINGS & QUEENS!!!
Hey everyone my name is Brittney, I am from Carencro, La. I was first introduced to the Swing out at 19. I was first introduced to Swing Kingz in the begginning when it all first started. I would go on the road with just Rich and Mr. Black. I used to go out and dance with my friends when Mr. Black intiatied that he wanted me to be his instructor for the dance class. Thats how i became part of the Swing Kings and Queens.

Hello everyone!!! My name is Ingrid Landor. I’m “38” years young. I am from Opelousas, Louisiana in which I also reside there. Hmmm, getting introduced to the “World of Swing” shouldn’t have been nothing new to me. In other words, let’s say this, both parents of mines are from Lawtell, Louisiana. Many of you who may be familiar with the city, knows that, that’s a place where they take pride in music as well as dancing. For me, I wish I can say the same. You would’ve thought I would’ve been one of them to pick up right away since it was introduced to me at such a young age but, I couldn’t at the time. Especially from me being a little person who had that shyness, I definitely was one who stayed on the side and did my own little thing with myself, “giggled.” As I got older, there were times where I actually gained up the courage to, “how they say, do a little 1,2.” I was always one to doubt myself as well but, when relatives, as well as friends would come up to me, they would always tell me, “mais, it looks like you’re doing good to me.” Now me on the other hand, didn’t quite think so. By me thinking that way, kind of made me stay back a bit and did my own little thing. Not that, that was a bad thing cause it was always an excitement to watch others tear up the dance floor. That’s when I knew right there, I wanted to try and let my guard down and do my thing. From being on social media, I would always see videos of different people along with the many different styles of dancing and was very much so amazed! I fell in Love!!! To shorten things up a bit, that’s when I met a little group called, “Swing Kingz Southern Soul & Swingout Music Group.” I may have my little moments every now and then but, practice definitely makes perfect and I’ve made such a big difference from when I first joined. Today, I am proud to be called a “Swing Queen.” I also still have a lot to learn but, remember, practice makes perfect and it only gets better in time.
